“My daughter has a developmental disability and was well below grade level in her literacy skills. She started tutoring sessions with Sacha in August 2023 and we have seen such an improvement in her skills and also her attitude towards reading. As her abilities have improved, so has her confidence and willingness to read.I highly recommend Sacha!”

“I can hear my daughter laughing during her online sessions, so she is having fun while learning! My daughter has surprised me with new skills with decoding words, reading fluency and comprehension, and her willingness to read on her own.”

“My 9 year old dyslexic grand-daughter looks forward to her lessons with Sacha. Sacha is a very professional educator with the ability to speak to children at their level, using intelligent, fun and engaging strategies that enable the child to progress happily and love what they are doing. Thank you, Sacha! We value your encouragement, reliability, adaptability and punctuality. Highly recommend.”

“Our kid has been working with Sacha for two and a half years and we cannot recommend her highly enough. She basically taught him how to read. Now his school teachers email her about his homework and she helps him with it. She's great, part of our team. Thank you, Sacha for all you do for our boy. <3.”

Our Services
Online reading and writing lessons
Engaging and Accessible
The benefit of online lessons
- You are able to access high-quality services without geographical constraints, time or transportation issues;
- Students feel comfortable and safe learning in their own home;
- Instead of boring flash cards, Sacha has created interactive, animated and gamified lessons designed to keep even the most distractible student engaged.
Diagnostic and Prescriptive, Structured and Cumulative
Individualised lesson plans
As a qualified Orton-Gillingham (OG) Practioner, Sacha tailors every lesson to the student's specific strengths and weaknesses. These personalised lesson plans are designed to meet the needs of each student. The OG approach is diagnostic and prescriptive in that it involves monitoring students in the moment while also planning for future lessons.
The lessons are structured and cumulative, in that the sequence begins with the simplest concepts and gradually increases in difficulty as students’ understanding deepens. Cumulative means each of these steps is built on top of the previous one.
Specialising in Neurodivergent Students
Playing to their strengths
Sacha works with all neurotypes including neurotypical people, and has an ND affirming approach that validates the characteristics of each person. We have created three programs designed specifically for dyslexic, autistic, and ADHD students. Elements of these programs can be blended together. For example:
- Dyslexic students typically learn well by using the strengths of pattern recognition and spacial awareness.
- Autistic students typically benefit from systematic, explicit instruction.
- ADHDers typically enjoy the dopamine loaded lessons divided into five minute increments with gamified drills.
Sacha has put in the personal work that it takes to become truly neurodiversity-affirmative in her own life and her professional life.
The Science of Reading
Mastering foundational literacy skills
We base our lessons on the Science of Reading. The five components are:
- phonological and phonemic awareness,
- phonics and morphology,
- fluency,
- vocabulary, and
- comprehension.
Sacha uses a variety of methodologies to acheive these objectives, including: auditory discrimination exercises, visual drills, blending boards, decodable readers, word matrices, choral reading, paragraph writing and more.
Sacha Wind
Sacha is passionate about teaching literacy and teaching.
Qualified as an Orton Gillingham Practitioner with training in Structured Word Enquiry, Sacha's students range in age from six years old, to twenty-seven. Many homeschooling parents choose our program, as well as parents of kids with learning delays and neurodivergent people.
Sacha is herself neurodivergent and a mother of neurdovergent children, who were the reason she started doing this work. After working as a Behaviour Interventionist for many years, she came to the realisation of how damaging ABA is, quit her job and went back to school to make a career change, became qualified as a literacy specialist and has never looked back.
She is most loved for her patience and kindness, adaptibility to the needs of each family, and ability to connect with her students, making each lesson a fun learning experience.
