“My daughter has a developmental disability and was well below grade level in her literacy skills. She started tutoring sessions with Sacha in August 2023 and we have seen such an improvement in her skills and also her attitude towards reading. As her abilities have improved, so has her confidence and willingness to read.I highly recommend Sacha!”

“My 9 year old dyslexic grand-daughter looks forward to her lessons with Sacha. Sacha is a very professional educator with the ability to speak to children at their level, using intelligent, fun and engaging strategies that enable the child to progress happily and love what they are doing. “Our kid has been working with Sacha for two and a half years and we cannot recommend her highly enough. She basically taught him how to read. Now his school teachers email her about his homework and she helps him with it. She's great, part of our team. Thank you, Sacha for all you do for our boy. <3.”

Personalized, Step-by-Step Learning for Lasting Success
Individualised lesson plans
As a qualified Orton-Gillingham (OG) Practitioner, Sacha tailors each lesson to the student’s unique strengths and needs, ensuring a personalized learning experience. The OG approach is both diagnostic and prescriptive, with real-time monitoring and careful planning for future lessons.
Lessons are structured and cumulative, starting with basic concepts and gradually increasing in difficulty as students’ understanding deepens, ensuring each step builds on the last for steady progress and confidence.
Inclusive, Neurodiversity-Affirming Support for Every Learner
Sacha works with individuals across all neurotypes, including those who are neurotypical, and takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach that embraces the full spectrum of neurotypes as natural and valuable variations in human cognition. This approach respects and values each person’s unique way of thinking and learning.
Sacha has spent years developing three tailored programs to support students who identify as dyslexic, autistic, or ADHD. These programs are flexible and can be blended to meet the specific strengths and needs of each learner.
Unlocking Literacy Through the Science of Reading
Our lessons are rooted in the proven Science of Reading framework, targeting the five essential components of literacy: phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics and morphology, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Sacha brings this science to life with engaging, multisensory methods—such as auditory discrimination exercises, visual drills, and decodable readers—that make learning both effective and enjoyable. By customizing each lesson to fit the needs of every student, we ensure that they build strong, lasting literacy skills with confidence and curiosity.
Sacha Wind
As a literacy specialist trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and Structured Word Inquiry, I work with students ages 6 to 19 who need explicit, personalised support in reading, spelling, and writing. I follow Science of Reading practices and draw on knowledge of how the brain works to ensure that each student’s prefrontal cortex is engaged and open to learning. I do this through curiosity-driven, gamified lessons that make learning enjoyable and effective, in contrast to rigid, directive teaching methods that can shut students down.
I am also a mom to three now almost-adult children with ADHD, autism, and Down syndrome. This has given me a deep respect for neurodiversity and the need for compassionate, responsive instruction. Originally from South Africa, I now call Canada home. I bring warmth, creativity, and care to every session, creating a space where students feel safe, capable, and encouraged to grow.
